If you’re in Surrey and you think ADHD business coaching would benefit you and your business, you might be wondering about the best way to approach it. Do you need a local coach? Should you go online, or would in-person sessions be better?
Do you need a local business coach?
The answer to this question might surprise you.
From local meetups to online coaching
Before the pandemic, my coaching work was almost entirely in person. I’d meet clients in quiet cafes around Surrey, sit outside in the garden, hire meeting rooms, or catch up over coffee in co-working spaces.
But when the first lockdown hit in March 2020, I, like many others, had to move my business online.
Some of my clients were very quick to adapt. Others held off at first, unsure how long this ‘new normal’ would last, and whether video calls would feel the same. However, almost every last one of them quickly realised that online coaching can be just as effective, and often more so. Some even preferred it.
Now, I work with clients across the UK as well as locally - but remain proudly based in Surrey.
Why online coaching works so well for ADHD brains
Most of the people I work with are neurodivergent. Many are diagnosed or self-identifying ADHD business owners who are doing brilliant, creative work. But they find themselves battling overwhelm, procrastination, or self-doubt: all of which can lead to burnout.
It turns out that online coaching works especially well for people with ADHD. Here’s why:
No travel stress - online sessions avoid dealing with the logistics of getting somewhere on time.
More flexibility - you can have a session in your car, on the sofa, or wherever you're most comfortable.
More authentic connection - when you’re in a comfortable space and haven’t had to deal with logistics, you feel less need to mask or overthink how you show up.
Easier transitions - there’s no need to plan recovery time before or after a session.
No matter where you are, I show up on time, fully present, and ready to help you move your business forward - even if you accidentally forget we had a call. No shame, it's part of how some ADHD brains operate and I get it.
Why working with a local Surrey coach can be better for some
For many of my clients who are specifically after ADHD-informed business coaching and do actually live in Surrey, being local still feels important. There are a few good reasons why.
Local knowledge
I know the area - from the creative hubs in Farnham to the hidden-gem co-working spaces in Guildford. I can suggest ADHD-friendly places to work, connect, or just take a breather. That kind of local context can really help if you’re building a business that supports your lifestyle.
Face-to-face options
If you’re based in Surrey or nearby, there is always the opportunity to meet in person – even if it doesn’t become necessary. Sometimes, even just one face-to-face session helps build that early trust and connection.
Community connections
Need a brilliant local web designer, VA, therapist, or photographer? I’ve built a strong network of other Surrey-based small business owners, many of whom understand or specialise in working with neurodivergent clients.
Grounded accountability
For some, knowing their coach is physically nearby just makes things feel more real and less abstract. That sense of grounded support can be a big motivator.
Is a Surrey-based ADHD coach the right choice for you?
It depends on what works best for you.
Some of my clients love the ease of online-only coaching, and geography becomes irrelevant. Others really value knowing I’m just down the road.
Either way, if you’re a creative or service-based business owner with ADHD and want a coaching experience that’s practical, non-judgemental, and designed to help you succeed, we could be a great fit.
